    I remember my mother, Lois Allison Renfro, making this fruit cake before Thanksgiving. We could always smell it, but she would hide it well. After baking, she would wrap the cake in apples and then wrap tightly in a cheesecloth or flour sack.<\/p>\n \t<\/div>\n\n \t\t
